They allow you to post here, so it's only consistent to allow using those words.

I don't think booze is the issue in itself.TheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 2:15 am Definitely been a few monngs at modus they ain’t invited back, only reason Monk probably did when he was a nontc was because he’s a family friend of Barrs and they’ve known each other since they were kids. I think some dart players literally can’t play darts unless they’re battered and maybe Parletti is one of them
It's more when booze leads to woeful performances. Such as Parletti's.
Unless Monk did similar? Then it probably is favouritism.

Wasn't there a year of the BDO Worlds where both someone from Turkey and Brunei qualified? I want those days back.

The World Darts Federation are delighted to confirm bookmaker kwiff as an official sponsor of the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships.
Established in the UK for more than five years, kwiff is available online and via a smooth, user-friendly app on iOS and Android devices.
kwiff CEO Charles Lee said: "We are delighted to be joining forces with the WDF to celebrate the fantastic legacy of the Lakeside ahead of this year's World Championships.
“There are some incredibly talented players across the four tournaments and we are looking forward to joining them on their journey and seeing the stars of the show fulfilling their dreams of lifting the trophies on Sunday December 10th.
“The WDF shares similar values to us at kwiff and we look forward to sharing a wonderful partnership into December and beyond.”
WDF Secretary-General Nick Rolls was delighted with the news of the partnership, saying: "Having kwiff onboard brings an extra dimension to the tournament. Everyone has an opinion on who will win each game and who will win the titles and kwiff offer an online opportunity for fans and spectators to back up those words with a flutter or two. Of course, we do ask that people bet responsibly."
You can get yourself set up to enjoy a flutter on the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships by opening an account at kwiff’s website or via their app*.

Tickets for the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships are available to purchase online through the WDF's dedicated Eventbrite page.

Still no word on the further outlets meant to be broadcasting the last 3 days of the championships.
Can't see any substantial tv interest like Eurosport announcing now. Might be stuck on Ayozat/YouTube and some of the random Facebook pages the BDO put some of there later tournaments on.

Would be good if it was. They need something mainstream, can't see anything on Discovery+ yet. The app has event listings for months in advance too. Also wouldn't quite understand why Eurosport would drop the event but still want the last three days.oche balboa wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 10:25 pmI've heard its Eurosport. Also I think the actual production could be quite poor visually with the WDF's current budget issues and it being mainly on Ayozat and YouTube. It's different from when Eurosport would broadcast the old BDO opens. I'm imagining the picture quality broadcast will be quite poor, not something the current Eurosport would broadcast.
I'd be delighted if I was wrong. The tournament needs a broadcast outlet like Eurosport

The last 3 days needs to be on an established TV Channel. If Eurosport (I'm not sure what they will show during Lakeside week) don't show it then there are hardly any options left. Considering European Cricket Network for example was on BT and/or Viaplay during their European Championship and this features players who aren't really top level amateurs then the WDF have failedIndyCarDavid wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 12:29 amWould be good if it was. Forgot that cricket tournament was on tv. Think it was mainly Viaplay Xtra. If it can get decent tv coverage there isnt much of an excuse for WDF not to have either.oche balboa wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 9:04 amThe last 3 days needs to be on an established TV Channel. Fingers crossed for some mainstream tv coverage.
Eurosport will be mainly winter sport on both channels. Not sure about evenings, there may be some evenings to fill for them. Yeah if it's not Eurosport/Quest it probably would have to be Sporty Stuff TV. Same companyish already so probably wouldn't be too hard to put some of the last 3 days on there. Issue with Sporty Stuff TV is there is still some greyhound racing and some of there other live sports still on at that time of year. Don't even know if Modus is on during WDF but I'd think they would be a bit daft to carry on during WDF
Don't know how many casual fans will land on the darts on Ayozat either. Not even sure if it's a channel that takes part in the tv ratings surveys. Probably more will catch it live on Youtube than Ayozat. At least with Sporty Stuff TV you could have a chance of some fans landing there.
