Lewis was pretty accurate. Even though he was a two-time world champ at one point he was still not necessarily seen as the second best player behind Taylor. Mostly a fun player but too inconsistent to win majors.
That got into effect the past few years. Proving they were right.

Almost every Lakeside champion between 1995 and 2020 is overrated.
I can only think of Beaton, Klassen, Kist and maybe David who are not overhyped.

The same Duzza who missed 4 match darts to win the PL?
The same Duzza who threw for the match in the semi-final of the PL and allowed his opponent two match darts?
The same Duzza who allowed McGeeney - a very average player - multiple match darts in the final of Lakeside 2019?
It's easy to appear mentally strong when you are up against average/underperforming players.
