Not official communication of course but interesting
Interesting, disappointing to hear given that there's basically no chance of any crowds in the UK for 6 months. Perhaps the logistics of sorting out an arena abroad for such a huge event, with fans, at relatively short notice, are just too great I guess

I’m sure Matt Porter said on a podcast the other day they’re hoping it’ll be at Ally Pally fans or no fans

If the PDC can they should move it overseas. Venue isn’t a factor it’s the crowd

Yeah, i'm not sure what the logic if any there is to that other than it meaning the majority of players don't have to travel to another country. It definitely added to the World Series even with a limited crowd so I think any chance at having similar for the World's should be taken.

Jesus, how much of a hit will they take if the Worlds doesn't have a crowd?

Not conviced of that. Contract to ally pally and workers is going to cost the PDC a substantial sum. Guessing about a third given the date. Playing somewhere that would be an event on delay certainly will mean a loss to SKY whom will want compensation in terms of a reduced pay ouy to the PDC on the contract. Going somewhere else is going to cost in travel for more than officials and crew add in the players. All that for what a few hundred fans a day. Dont see tix paying that difference. Better off doing the piped in crowd and keeping contracts minimizing what ever breaches they can.

Will look weird considering all the crowds Ally Pally has, Its a shame it can have say 15-20% of capacity

It will be strange not having the crowds at ally pally. Don't miss the crowds myself but admit ally pally is different.

The screen they used in the back with fans was a good idea. Far better than the stupid card board fans they used here in the states. Changing back ground gives some dynamics. Sky has enough footage from over the years of fans at ally pally. Use that on the back screen.

I think Sky will think of something better then what happened at the World Matchplay

The background noise worked a lot better at the Premier League nights than the Matchplay tbf. I don't know what other ideas they might have up their sleeves

Sterilise your pompoms. The dancers will stand two metres apart and wear William Hill branded snoods.

I changed my mind re moving it to anywhere with a crowd, I think others are right, It's probably better to do a hopefully one off behind closed doors that fits with the exceptional times than to just do a shittier watered down version of a world Champs and it being a relative damp squib anyway.

Good, I'll relay these thoughts onto Barry Hearn

Keane Barry and Ryan Meikle confirmed for the Worlds via the Development Tour. Meikle could still qualify via the Pro Tour instead.

Canadian place about to be confirmed, straight shootout in the semi final of the last Canadian CDC event between Matt Campbell, last year's Canadian participant, and David Cameron, of Lakeside fame. Come on Campbell
