i just think that would have been a crushing blow mate.

we all know he struggled to get over the line, with a collapse like that playing on his mind i just dont think he would have got the job done.

Dont think it would have crushed him like you think. Remember that Mason match he bottled?, thing is shit like that happens but he came back stronger.
He's experienced enough to take them on the chin and learn from it.

It's a total fallacy that the bloke doesn't deserve his success, which is what's being pointed at here.

You beat what's in front of you. He does that. Funny that if you stay loyal as a footballer, ala le tissier you get lauded. Do it as a dart player & you get vilified.

You'd be fucked if he did stick to his guns. All your spineless paraphernalia would be redundant.

Nothing will change the facts.......

History will document he was a 2 decade jobber who not only won no major before the split but could not qualify.

His 3 master titles were won over 12 matches in a highly seeded comp that resembled nothing to the comp bob anderson won.

its a fair point re mason granted.

i think it was getting over the line against nixon that made him what he is now though in terms of mental strength.

would the 2005 adams have rallied to beat kong at the masters? im doubtful to be honest.

would he have held off chisnall without the nixon win in the confidence bank?

we will never know i guess.

what a guy...he won one set out of 7 against another jobber in nixon....lets face it nixon is no wade or lewis type player but a pub qualifier by all accounts

I dont agree with his remarks digging at the PDC and it's annoying his stubourness not to play in the GSOD's but the fact is he is top dog in the BDO and has been for about 4/5 years.
Anyone who thinks he's a shit player obviously doesn't have high regard for all the other BDO players who he is constantly beating to the Majors year in year out many of which are now top PDC players, i mean that would make them all REALLY shit no?

was it not the case that when the pressure switched to nixon at 6-6 he went to pieces? thats my memory of it?

another thing i wonder is what if klassen and mvg had stayed in the bdo system?

has their game benefited by being in the pdc or suffered from it as neither has made an impact like they had in the bdo.

My own memory was that I wanted Nixon to win but couldn't believe how well Adams held it together. I suppose that comes down to a half full / half empty type of thing for each individual in how they saw it.
doesnt appear to be on youtube, i do have it on dvd somewhere, have to watch it again at some point and see what the truth of it is unswayed by my boas against adams.

Bob Anderson said that Adams made a business decision, I agree. Yes he gets over the line and is the consumate pro, a pro that does what he has to do.

ToS and Anderson nailed it about experience on the stage. It dont take a lot of working out

For those reasons MH its why adams has an advantage in all the comps.

He is seeded in the final 16 in the masters, and in lakeshite he is up against a qualifier who has 00 times out of a 100 no experience so yes he is expected to win.
It aint a level playing field in the majority of his matches.

7 other players are seeded at the masters.

Plenty of other seeds play first time participants at lakeside.
