I don’t think Smudger can win it at his current level. Though I think in this current era nothing would shock me. There won’t be a new world champion this year anyway as Rob Cross is picking up his 2nd

The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

I think MVG will break his 5 year drought at Ally Pally next year.
As for the next new winner? Fuck knows, but Asp, Clayton and Humphries' names were the first three that popped up in my head.

I meant Luke Littler

Barney's chief slave. Also severely addicted to The Ferret.
An ultimate jamboree of Lord Hobo-loving, Sexy Joyce worshipping, Smudger smearing, Goldfingering, Beautiful Biscuit bonanza.

Darts changes very quickly, everytime one of these threads pops up again I look back at my comments at the time and think wtf was I thinking, but they probably were logical at the time

Re: Who Are The Future First-Time PDC World Champions?
Aside from Littler does anybody have any names of current Tour Card holder that they actually believe will win one?
I don’t. Chris Dobey probably the next closest to being a pick for me but given he has only made one TV final and managed to lose from 4-0 up this year doesn’t fill me with confidence in predicting him in the future.
If you had asked me years back when he was a youth not even on Tour yet I’d have said Dimi but I’m not convinced he will win another major let alone a worlds TBH.
Unless we get another young talent emerge or somebody appears from the blue I wouldn’t be surprised to see the next 8-10 worlds dominated by current winners (plus Littler potentially) TBH.

Team Corvid 2025 consists of the following 12 players.
Clayton, Littler, Gilding, De Sousa, Wright, Evans, Campbell, Scutt, Lauby, Rob Owen, Patrick Geeraets and Justin Hood.

I think Dobey is continuing to get better. I certainly think he's a top 8, maybe even top 4 player in the next couple of years.

I think it’s way too early to dismiss Van den Bergh. He has so much ability and is still young. This year will be very interesting for the likes of him and Price who haven’t picked up a big one for a while

DvdB and DvD will drop precipitously this year. Dimi is shite in the floor events and that’s been carrying over to the TV events of late. Hopefully Dirk can get through his injury.

Indeed Dimi is defending almost 70% of his money this year and is in slight danger of dropping out of the top 16 before the Matchplay and failing to qualify.Cooking with Sanchez wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 11:50 am DvdB and DvD will drop precipitously this year. Re: Who Are The Future First-Time PDC World Champions?
He's just scraped into the top 16, but he's better than that. He did just let a 4-0 lead slip, but I don't think it'll affect him that much, it wasn't a bad choke, and to be fair, 4-0 in sets is just 2 breaks of throw, there is precedent for that margin to be blown in previous Worlds

It's longer than even the Matchplay for a start. Some players who win other TV events will be capable of winning the big one, others nottungsten tossers wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 4:39 pmThe Worlds is a different animalTheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 4:19 pm If you can win one major there’s no reason you can’t win another

I don't remember him having a great 2022 in ranking events until the Worlds, pressure ever so slightly off until then, but if he doesn't perform next Worlds he could be in a heap of troubleThe Crow wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 12:04 pmIndeed Dimi is defending almost 70% of his money this year and is in slight danger of dropping out of the top 16 before the Matchplay and failing to qualify.Cooking with Sanchez wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 11:50 am DvdB and DvD will drop precipitously this year.
