It's a worldwide issue, standard of Test batting is as low as it has ever been, and won't improve unless the Test players significantly reduce the amount of T20 they play.

The biggest problem is the next generation of batsmen are travelling to play T20 rather than staying at home to play First Class cricket.

And selectors that pick those players for Test matches rather than the ones who are actually playing proper cricket.
