Congrats Hednesford. They must have had some rough years as I remember them being high up in the Conference (National League) maybe 20 years ago.

they had a run to the 4th round of the FA Cup pre 2000
and finished 3rd in the Conference in 95/96. Just above Gateshead funnily enough.

A lot of the non league clubs go through this cycle... do well for a few years, then tumble

Dragging a bigger club to a replay at their place and making big bucks out of it... RIP.

Hednesford 4-4 Gainsborough

The two lowest ranked clubs in the competition have produced one of the ties of this, or any other season.

It will be decided by penalties...

FULL-TIME

Stevenage 1-1 Guiseley (Stevenage win 5-4 on pens)

Stevenage go through to the second round after Murphy Cooper saved James Ible's penalty to prevent an FA Cup upset.

Lebrun Mbeki had the chance to win the tie for seventh-tier Guiseley with their fifth penalty of the shootout but his spot-kick was saved.

Guiseley are 88 place behind Stevenage in the pyramid

WHARTON SAVES THREE PENALTIES TO SEND TRINITY THROUGH

Hednesford 4-4 Gainsborough (Gainsborough win 5-4 on pens)

Manny Duku, Omar Holness and Dominc McHale had Hednesford 3-0 up after 49 minutes but Declan Howe's double and Will Lancaster's last-gasp equaliser forced extra-time.

Holness put the Pitmen back ahead but Javelle Clarke's leveller sent the tie to spot-kicks and of course it went to sudden-death.

Dylan Cogill and Bobby Johnson blazed over from the spot for the visitors while Jack Bearne saw an effort saved by Trinity keeper Dylan Wharton and Joel Taylor missed the chance to win it for the Pitmen, pulling his shot wide.

Sion Spence then struck the bar for Hednesford only for Town keeper Jack Rose to deny Fraser Preston as he tried to send Trinity through.

Skipper Elliot Johnson saw his effort saved by Wharton and extra-time hero Clarke was also denied by Rose.

Wharton then saved from Blaine Rowe allowing Jordan Helliwell to complete an epic comeback with the 19th kick of the shootout.
