i reset it a few days back and wiped everything off it.
managed to lose a 119,000 word novel emma had written

Isn't that what you'd expect for most batters though mate?
How the fuck did you manage to delete the novel? The resets only remove programs not data!

it is in fairness.
she had downloaded a new word programme to use, i seem to have deleted it and with it the work.
i am trying to recover it!

The data will be there mate it's just the program that's missing. If she downloads the program again it should work ok

If there's nothing associated you need to find a program on line that will mate. If it's a Word doc it shouldn't be too difficult

only lost a load of stuff myself the other night,
Everything i do in photoshop i keep on a flashstick and deleted a folder the other night, the darts folder.
Lost hundred of pics i had going back years, all my designs, psd's, darts pics and stuff for making the pics ,and a heap of other stuff, lucky i had the pics on my site or would have lost them too.
The curse with the flashstick is if you delete something you dont get it back, unlike the desktop where you can take it out of the recycle bin
