Deller is above Bristow because he beat him.Randall wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 1:03 pm1 good week gets him a place in the all time top 20?Rogg wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:42 amHe looks reasonably accustomed to encounters with butter. The Thorn wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:40 pmIs there an argument for Fordham being top 10-15 all time? The year he won the worlds in the BDO was extremely strong. Merv King at his best, Barney, Adams, Hankey, Gando. In my all-time Top 20 for sure. As you say he beat a field of proper players to win the big one, arguably the strongest field of that decade.
Dellar as well?

An iconic warning from history from which few have managed to learn. MVG and Taylor doing it to each other and paying the price. It's a youtube compilation video that no-one seems to have made.Randall wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 10:27 amStill hard to believe he spurned the shot at bullRogg wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 10:22 amDeller is above Bristow because he beat him.Randall wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 1:03 pm1 good week gets him a place in the all time top 20?

Could be. It's hard to compare it with other famous disasters. Generally people are at least attacking the object when they slip, snatch and choke.
You like haha chess? Any notorious comparable moments?

I dont recall any in world championship matches.
There was an occasion in a rapid game where carlsen blundered held his head in his hands and resigned immediately.

I think he was on 104 to win the 1989 World final. Hit T18, S14 and then went for tops instead of double 18.Randall wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 12:07 pmThis has escaped from my memory banks?whereisman wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 11:49 amJocky going for the wrong finish for the title was a pretty big brain fart. Contributions always welcome.
If Adams wins the seniors it will prove once and for all that the majority of Taylor's world titles are worth nothing.
