The difference is that Loyalism is completely bigoted. There's no cause behind it apart from the idea that Taigs are second class and inferior to Prods. While there are some bigots on the other side most of them just wanted to be treated like equals and wanting the British state to leave doesn't mean they hate British people. Even the violence on their side came about after years of being shot and burned out of their homes and with a police and Army that was against them. I can feel sorry for Loyalists in the north as they are products of their environment but some fat Millwall fan from London has no excuse.

lets not forget catholics were kicked out of the homes, and land and was taken of them and given to scottish and english immigrants.
The british shot, robbed, tortured Irish people, denying them human rights etc, so hardly a surprise when the IRA started fighting back and took the offensive against them.

But of course it was the Irish that were called the terrorists as if the English state were innocent victims in all of this.
Lets not forget there are as many Irish in Britain as there are in Ireland itself, more catholics in Britain than there is in Ireland, the issue was never against the british people, but the british government and its policies, which shoot to kill was just one of.

As for the poster PDC , I doubt he would spout that anti republicanism mantra while drinking in his local in galway.
