Re: cricket thread
Warner could do some damage here and tomorrow's forecast is a great batting day

Re: cricket thread
These 2 have played very well.
The number 4 is a find.
Well organised and composed.

He fought very well in the India series early this year. And has averaged about 70 for Glamorgan this year.
It is more baffling that they did not select him for the opening two tests

Him and Smith at 4 and 5 next game.
England need to win here.

The benefit of a right handed obvious for all to see.

Re: cricket thread
The best players hardly ever make good captains. Root, like Cook, just isn't cut out for it. Too indecisive.

It hasn't.Randall wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 5:59 pmI haven't looked at any stats but the captaincy doesn't seem to have had a positive impact on his batting either.
He has averaged about 35 with the fucking bat over the past couple of years.

Re: cricket thread
I'll give you Smith and Richards.
Ponting and Waugh were surrounded by so many great players, I could have captained that side.
Lara only won 10 out of 47 matches as test captain.
Botham, Pietersen, Root, Cook, Steve Smith, Gayle, Tendulkar.
All great players, none of them any good as captains.

Back to the game in hand, another hour to play with the lower order to come. Should be a day for England

From Smith's injury to the toss to the conditions and the nature of todays play, the stars have aligned for england.
One good day with the bat tomorrow and its 1-1.

Re: cricket thread
I'm off to your neck of the woods for a T20 match tomorrow.
First time going to Grace Road, is it as much of a shithole as I presume it will be?
