I agree but it doesn't make Wade's performance any better does it. As mental as he is, Wade is, or was, a quality player and it is annoying to see him put in such a poor effort. And wtf is up with that interview there and the cringey Adams style fake laugh.Surreys finest wrote:
But Anderson couldn't get it done to be there. We all moan when Van Gerwen gets easy finals, but these easy finals tend to happen because Anderson and Taylor have gone out.
Been a decent tournament giving the BDO beggars a good hiding, so not all is lost. The General wrote:Has there been a good one since the semi and finals started being played the same day?D'Artagnan wrote:Poor final I'm afraid.
One more thing baz has wrong with this event.
I think it speaks volumes that players as old as Taylor, Barney and Anderson are seen as the biggest threats to van Gerwen today, the ones who are most capable of delivering the goods under pressure. Lewis should be the most embarrassed, considering that he used to be a thorn in van Gerwen's side just 3 years ago.Surreys finest wrote:But Anderson couldn't get it done to be there. something about it being shameful An Englishman losing to Dutchman in EnglandJustin Credible wrote:Lister of Smeg wrote:EDL Speech from Wade again.

Said he didn't want to lose to a Dutchman in England when all the crowd is supporting himself.Justin Credible wrote:Lister of Smeg wrote:EDL Speech from Wade again.

What does he want, some nutjob to tea-bag MvG live on stage..Lister of Smeg wrote:something about it being shameful An Englishman losing to Dutchman in EnglandJustin Credible wrote:Lister of Smeg wrote:EDL Speech from Wade again.

A very valid point. As bad as Lewis has become, MVG has gotten incredibly better over the last 3 years. He just brushed aside Wade in third gear. The PDC needs another breakthrough player who will challenge MVG regularly as the current crop just aren't up to standard.PT13 wrote:I think it speaks volumes that players as old as Taylor, Barney and Anderson are seen as the biggest threats to van Gerwen today, the ones who are most capable of delivering the goods under pressure. Mmm Mmm Those salty tears taste good.
Van Gerwen recovered from an early deficit to go 10-5 up, and Wade showed that he would miss doubles when given chances, which in turn boosted MvG's morale. Van Gerwen didn't need to raise it any more and just cruised along. Players have really got to realize that the most important thing against van Gerwen is to make him know that you are not going to miss doubles when you get the chance. That is even more important than power scoring against him, even though that has its importance too. If van Gerwen knows that his opponent is going to hit doubles when he gets the chance, it puts him under pressure and he's likely to miss more. If the opponent is going to miss those darts at doubles, van Gerwen relaxes and cruises along.dartvader wrote:Wouldn't have been so bad if he'd played like he did earlier but he won that in third gear while wade couldn't raise his game at all.PT13 wrote:Van Gerwen has the hunger for every tournament that other players don't.
