the PDC was skint, the players had to invest their own money in the then WDC

The bdo had the money, but due to better darts, better management, clever dealing etc the PDC grew , not because it had money initially.
The bdo did nothing, even today the bdo is now trying to piggyback of the success of the PDC and failing miserably

There is something seriously wrong and flawed when players who have won recent comps like Alan Norris and Joe Murnan are left out so that cunts like Kong, West and Wayne Jones who have done NOTHING all year get to the last 8 of a comp that already had all the top players missing.

How the fuck is Kong who won 4 games today to get to a last eight, more deserving than Norris who actually won a comp, and one with the top players in it.

Look at the players West beat. Are any of them in the top 64?

Chuck and Murnan are obvious choices, Klassen has been consistent all year, etc etc

Seems Beaton also beat total scrubs from start to finish to qualify.

the top players all had already qualified more or less so getting to a last 8 in a depleted field is more important than winning an actual comp like murnan and norris did....beyond retarded

Going to be a fair few 5-0/1s in the group stages.

The Gsod will still however be successful and certainly watched regardless of the qualifiers, as most will still want to see spineless get abused, the condition of fordham etc, bit it could and should have been soo much better.

The likes of Klaasen, norris etc missing while some cunts like mark ostrich and Van der Horst getting in is a disaster

I agree with this week's choice.

Now it's a ranking event, surely it would be better to draw from recent form on the ProTour, or perhaps the order of merit. A qualifying event under a short format is bound to produce some unworthy qualifiers.

It's a shame the GSOD is not still an exbo, if it was, they could have just handed out wildcards.

if they were to have given out wildcards i doubt any of the qualifiers would have got one
