Many 'young' players have shown potential over the years just look where Hubbard is now 'pushing trolleys for Tesco's?'

Outstanding. Well done Thorn.John Boy Walton is the most underrated sportsman of this century - saddled up to lakey 2001 - and won the whole thing - back when lakeside was at its best - and darts was at its best - most compeitive fields and played with the best of order on regulation boards - hed have beaten taylor and any of the circus lads that week -

My theory is that Thorn kept a log of the worst statements made by Oche, IFM, Fandarts and other shrooms. Hence "Jobson" was born
I thought James Hubbard completely smashed Michael van Gerwen in the 2012 World Youth final in May 2012, more than the scoreline suggests. That was the very last time that we saw the struggling van Gerwen of 2008-2011 that had issues with his form. Van Gerwen was already slowly on the rise in the 6-7 months or so before that night, but the old struggling MvG reappeared that night one last time, whereas Hubbard seemed completely relaxed after the recent Grand Slam experience of stage TV play. Sid Waddell's last night of commentary that night too.
Martin Adams had serious issues with Raymond van Barneveld in TV matches, so where does that put Adams compared to Phil Taylor? The 2005 Lakeside final when Barney beat Adams 6-2, and then another 6-2 win over Adams the following year in the semi final just a month before Barney switched to the PDC. Later in 2006, Taylor and Adams met in the World Darts Trophy final over a World Championship final format, and Taylor won 7-2.M H wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 6:56 pmOh dearRogg wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 6:37 pm Old pal robson still driving the brutally humourless inmates round the bend on digispy.

I do think that Adams is both overrated and underrated. He was one of the best players in the world, but certainly not in the top 3. The best players in 2007-2010 were Taylor, Barney and Wade, and below that I'd put players like T. Jenkins, King and Adams. G. Anderson and A. Lewis were incredible on their day in that period, but inconsistent. Adams would be in the mix somewhat, but would fall short of winning TV majors in my opinion, especially if Taylor is on a ridiculous run of form like March 2008 to September 2010. I even reckon the Roland Scholten of 2007-2008, who wasn't quite as good as the 2004-2006 Scholten, could potentially give Adams trouble. Scholten did beat Adams in the quarter finals of the 2006 International Darts League.
Adams did well in the group stage of the 2015 Grand Slam, but then fell short against Kim Huybrechts in the Last 16. Why didn't Adams play the Grand Slam in the years before? I can understand why he missed the first one in 2007 because it clashed with the World Masters, but there were no excuses in 2008 and 2009 when he turned down his invitation. On the other hand, had Adams accepted the offer in 2009 then Scott Waites would never have gotten into the Grand Slam that year, which would have changed a lot.
Funny you should mention that.
adams finally matured and mastered the lakesde stage - lakey was still in its golden years when bareny left - and it would stay like that until 2011 - adams won three world titles in that time -

+1nice to see mvg handled the pressure - and people say he would walk through lakey - bullshit -

This must break some record.I suspect that van Tergouw is finished as a darts player. There are many better players coming through, who have got better match fitness compared to him. Even a management company like Modus have decided to not retain him in their player roster, which speaks volumes.
Mitchell Clegg? Didn't hear much from him after he co-debuted in the PDC Worlds with BarneyRogg wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 11:27 amThis must break some record.I suspect that van Tergouw is finished as a darts player. Given the thread we're in, I suspect Rogg meant the record in prematurely burying a darts player's career.
