Smith en route to breaking 180 record held by Van Gerwen

He has already thrown a maximum 382 times this year. This puts Smith miles ahead of number two Peter Wright (308) and number three Joe Cullen (273).

The old record of 180 scores on 7 June was held by Michael van Gerwen. The Dutchman had 366 180-scores in 2018.

Smith still has to work hard to take over Van Gerwen's annual record. Mighty Mike ended up with 622 180's in 2018.

Jobber gates could start his improvement by learning to count.

He will be a nice bye for someone at the worlds.

Gates is sound and a very good player. Not going to set the world alight but I trust he wins a game or two

A fine human being then.

Which reminds me: I’ve been wishing cancer on your prostate for quite a while now.

Pretty nasty that but he's lost his card before then won it back and cracked the top 20-odd. He knows the score. More of what he got up to at the 2018 Matchplay would be lovely.

It may be better for him to start from scratch...

And here I thought it's ambitious what the PDC are planning to do for qualifying tournaments for their Asian Championship... Finding it hard to believe the ADC is anywhere near equipped to run quals in all those countries.

Just need to put up a few boards at any pub or leisure centre. I have faith that amateur darts is heading the right way
