We're going to buy insurance this week in 1994. Will we be tempted by these incentives?

Saturday 28th May 1994.

Giggs, Cantona and Throbbo will be cooking with Gary Rhodes who is covered in cream or something for reasons not made clear.

10 years to the day since Eric Morecambe died, the BBC's tribute to him concludes.

Monday 30th May 1994.

BBC2 is having an evening they're calling Goal TV - a bunch of mini items about football, which apparently has 'a new army of thinking, sensible fans'.

Including the famous episode of Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads? where they try to avoid the England score.

^ That was bank holiday monday.

1.15pm on ITV was the division 1 play-off final: Leicester v Derby.

Leicester's manager was Brian Little. Steve Walsh scored twice in a 2-1 win.

Wednesday 3rd June 1931. https://eehe.org.uk/28911/outsidetv/

94 years ago, almost to the day. The Derby at Epsom was shown live on BBC television. It is regarded as the first ever outside television broadcast.

The Derby had been filmed since 1896 and only previously shown in cinemas after the event. TV pioneer John Logie Baird's broadcasting equipment was set up in a caravan at the winning post.
