BBC2 is having an evening they're calling Goal TV - a bunch of mini items about football, which apparently has 'a new army of thinking, sensible fans'.
Including the famous episode of Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads? where they try to avoid the England score.

1.15pm on ITV was the division 1 play-off final: Leicester v Derby.
Leicester's manager was Brian Little. Steve Walsh scored twice in a 2-1 win.

94 years ago, almost to the day. The Derby at Epsom was shown live on BBC television. It is regarded as the first ever outside television broadcast.
The Derby had been filmed since 1896 and only previously shown in cinemas after the event. TV pioneer John Logie Baird's broadcasting equipment was set up in a caravan at the winning post.
