So Adams beat an inexperienced bottler then?HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:49 pmIt wouldn’t have mattered what version of Chizzy got to the final, he would still lose. He is another who it seems cannot get over the line. If him and Bullyboy play a major final it’s a good bet to say it goes to a last leg decider they both end up on madhouse with numerous match darts missed a piece.

As I’ve stated previously, you can only beat who is in front of you.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:28 pmSo Adams beat an inexperienced bottler then?HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:49 pmIt wouldn’t have mattered what version of Chizzy got to the final, he would still lose. You can also choose not to play where the best players areHalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:31 pmAs I’ve stated previously, you can only beat who is in front of you.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:28 pmSo Adams beat an inexperienced bottler then?HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:49 pmIt wouldn’t have mattered what version of Chizzy got to the final, he would still lose. Beating average players doesn't make you great though, does it?HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:31 pmAs I’ve stated previously, you can only beat who is in front of you.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:28 pmSo Adams beat an inexperienced bottler then?HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:49 pmIt wouldn’t have mattered what version of Chizzy got to the final, he would still lose. If what you are saying is true and to your mind he isn’t as good as people make out, why is he high up in best ever player polls? Wayne Mardle I think had him around 6 I am not suggesting he is anywhere near that high but these polls or the people that vote/compile them have a valid opinion too, just because you or I disagree doesn’t make them wrong. Eg Viz believes that Steve Beaton and Mervyn King should be higher than Rob Cross, now I can’t see an argument for that. Viz even brought popularity into it which isn’t a criteria I think is relevant, but who am I to say?sennafan24 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:40 pmBeating average players doesn't make you great though, does it?HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:31 pmAs I’ve stated previously, you can only beat who is in front of you.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:28 pmSo Adams beat an inexperienced bottler then?HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:49 pmIt wouldn’t have mattered what version of Chizzy got to the final, he would still lose. The bulk of Adams' success came between 2009 and 2011, after Anderson, Webster, and Thornton had left for the PDC. Between 2007 and 2009, Spineless went a combined 1-6 against those three, and 1-3 in major events. His sole win coming against those three in that period came against Thornton at Lakeside 2008.
From Wiki:
2012: Quarter Final (lost to Tony O'Shea 2–5)
2013: 1st Round (lost to Jimmy Hendriks 2–3)
2014: Quarter Final (lost to Jan Dekker 2–5)
2015: Runner-Up (lost to Scott Mitchell 6–7)
2016: 1st Round (lost to Jeff Smith 0–3)
2017: Quarter Final (lost to Jamie Hughes 4–5)
2018: 1st Round (lost to Mark McGeeney 2–3)
2020: 1st Round (lost to Scott Waites 2–3)
Mardle also ranked MVG above Taylor on that list. When asked to justify that opinion by other pundits, he failed to do so and was left looking silly.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:45 pm If what you are saying is true and to your mind he isn’t as good as people make out, why is he high up in best ever player polls?
