Senna is the new Zeyes. Talk all reasonably and convincingly like.
Beaton is ok in my book, should get the award for being around a long time and playing consistently. He is always a danger just because he plays consistently. Bonus, when in the fuck has he ever moaned about something, just gets up there does his business.

Let me throw this out there, Gando under achiever? Never won lakey, that one is just for fanny. Like Fatpot a natural talent of the highest level, won some stuff in the PDC but he arguably should have won more.

Re: Who is the biggest underachiever in the current top 32?
Gando not really one for me. Won more than twice as many majors as Fatpot, that's fair enough I think. I wouldn't call him an under achiever, he was unlucky to be in the era of prime MVG, who overshadowed him. His talent perhaps would have been enough for more than 2 worlds. But that's not really his fault, he's a lazy fuck but in the big ones he puts in the effort.
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

Re: Who is the biggest underachiever in the current top 32?
In all seriousness, Gando isn't an underachiever.
He was at one point in the early 2010s. But since then, he's won 2 Premier Leagues, 2 World Titles, a UK Open title, and a Matchplay title. The only major titles that allude him are the Grand Prix and arguably the Grand Slam. That's a decent haul of trophies.
Sure, he could have won more. But you could say that about anyone not named Taylor.

I think most players would look at Gando's career and would be pretty pleased!

Aye, he fulfilled his potential in the end. He played to the best of his ability for a good number of years.
Some have yet to make the most of their ability (Bully Smith). Or if they have had a period where they reached their potential, they have only done it for a short while (Adrian Lewis)

I remember those matches at the grand slam with Taylor while at the BDO. He pushed him all the way!sennafan24 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 6:56 pmAye, he fulfilled his potential in the end. He played to the best of his ability for a good number of years.

Their semi-final in the very first year of the Slam. Brilliant.StevieBoy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 7:00 pmI remember those matches at the grand slam with Taylor while at the BDO. Back when we could genuinely juggle the idea of BDO players going far. When the gold standard was actual gold, not, fucking, an eliminated Jim Williams beating the massively overrated PDC Europe wankpuppet Hopp or an already doomed Geert De Vos averaging 150 against a ferret on his way back to Jackie's room.

Impressed that everyone on the list except Shitlock has a point on the board. Clearly there is plenty of mediocrity to go around. I would say the chap that picked bunting is the harshest of us all.
Lewis and Cullen in a dead heat for first of the worst, for entirely different sorts of underachieving.

After all, he did consider Bunting to be the joint 3rd best in the world.

I have selected Whitlock, but consider it a vote for Kim Huybrechts, who I am surprised you did not include.
When Kim made the Quarters at the European Championship in 2011 I thought he would be around for a long time and be a multiple Major winner.
8 years later he has won 2 Euro Tours and 2 Pro Tours, none in the last 4 years and is in seemingly terminal decline.

Good shout. I also thought he would go on to achieve a lot more than he has when he broke through. Quarters at his first World's too in 2012, and then made the final at the Players Championship later that year.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 1:28 pm I have selected Whitlock, but consider it a vote for Kim Huybrechts, who I am surprised you did not include.

Since then, his Grand Slam win over van Gerwen is as good as it has got for him. I thought he was very fortunate both times he was put in the Premier League.

This thread is from June 2019. I was quite surprised to see Smithy only had 2 votes. The scrutiny of him was quite low back then it seems.
