Jamie Hughes said he also wanted to enter but couldn't do it because of the system error. And sadly, he's sure the players affected won't be able to play this weekend

128 other guys had no problem with the new system, so not sure you can blame the system.
Also if you have trouble entering an PDC event how about contacting the PDC and the PDPA directly to get it solved?

Re: Players Championships 2019
The fact that at least 4 players couldn't enter really suggests to me that there is an error indeed. 1 or maybe 2 could be down to them being stupid, but don't think I can justify any more than that. The system being wrong obviously means that some entries weren't taken, not that no one could enter.Tony O'Shit wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 10:05 pm 128 other guys had no problem with the new system, so not sure you can blame the system.

And I would think the players have already contacted the PDPA. Jamie Hughes already said he got confirmation that they won't be able to play.

I guess PDC must feel it is the players fault and not theirs. The Thorn wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 11:44 amThe fact that at least 4 players couldn't enter really suggests to me that there is an error indeed. 1 or maybe 2 could be down to them being stupid, but don't think I can justify any more than that. Otherwise I am sure that they could have let them enter and play four pre-lim games rather than chucking out the four that have replaced them

Re: Players Championships 2019
Not sure about his source, but apparently if Gando pulls out of PC 1-2, Andy Hamilton is in line to make a triumphant return to the Players Championship scene. That's if he bothered entering (a number of players above him didn't and some may want to give the UK Open qualifiers a try), if not, then Portela is next in line

Re: Players Championships 2019
Portela saying it's a play-off between him and Hamilton? Would be rather odd, but they're currently tied on the CT OoM, both on £750, I wonder if there actually is no way to split them lol

Re: Players Championships 2019
Hamilton would take it on countback, though not sure how fair would it be to just apply that when all events were on the same weekend

Re: Players Championships 2019
I assume Portela knows more than us, and it would be silly to have countback when so few events have been played

Re: Players Championships 2019
There is no relevant countback after four events, since the countback is based on, well, the sum of the last four events.
The next tie-breaker would be their position on the main Order of Merit, and they're obviously both on 0 there.
I'm surprised Scott Taylor seemingly didn't enter the events and the first withdrawal spot went straight to Gilding (who's lower than Taylor). Unusual for a recent tour card holder.

Bliley.. who'd have thought the CT would go down to 12th place on the first weekend of the PC..
Obviously there ate a few in due to IT and admin issues, but it looks like the boys at the top of the CT are going to get a fair few opportunities this year

Re: Players Championships 2019
To be fair, Lynskey, Taylor and Askew didn't enter, so I think there will be about the same number of Challenge Tour players able to play the main tour as last year. It's been an absolute clusterfuck, so while the guys around #10 in the rankings are silly for not chancing their arm, they surely can't have expected to get on the tour. At the very least, it looks like Edhouse and Koltsov are safe for the time being, then the next two or so are probables, after that is in the lap of the gods reallytungsten tossers wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 10:29 amBliley.. who'd have thought the CT would go down to 12th place on the first weekend of the PC..

Re: Players Championships 2019
Seems some players can't even manage to help themselves to the rewards they're due.
Can you apply to enter a Players Championship as a CT reserve even if you're ranked miles down the table? I'd be bloody doing that if so, assuming I could get to the events of course.

I haven't seen the new entry system, but it was certainly possible on the old one.Rogg wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 12:01 pm Seems some players can't even manage to help themselves to the rewards they're due.![]()

Today's already the entry deadline for PC 3-4, we'll see how things worked out for that one, numbers-wise.
