Klassen always appears quite passive toward MVG. He clapped when MVG beat him in a TV tournament a year or so ago.
If Klassen gets in and wants to play, the ball is in MVG's court. Either play or withdraw. The PDC shouldn't go against practice due to a player's personal feelings, even if it is the World number 1. I doubt they will either.

A NUMBER of nations have confirmed their qualifiers for the 2016 Betway World Cup of Darts, which will take place in Frankfurt from June 2-5.
The 32-nation event will see players compete across four days, live on Sky Sports, with reigning champions England and former winners the Netherlands amongst the countries battling for the title.
While many of the more established nations' teams will be confirmed in mid-May, a number of countries worldwide have already confirmed their two-player teams in advance of June's tournament.
Lourence Ilagan and Gilbert Ulang (pictured) won through a qualifying knockout to represent the Philippines, while Scott MacKenzie and Ting Chi Royden Lam (pictured, below) will star for Hong Kong, having reached the quarter-finals in 2015.
Singapore will again be represented by veteran star Paul Lim - the 62-year-old legend who achieved a nine-darter in the 1990 World Championship - and Harith Lim, who is making a third successive World Cup appearance.
New Zealand's Warren Parry will make his third World Cup appearance alongside newcomer Cody Harris, who qualified for last year's Sydney Darts Masters and has starred on the domestic circuit in Australia and New Zealand over the past year.
Finland will be represented for a second successive year by Kim Viljanen and Marko Kantele, while Magnus Caris teams up with Daniel Larsson for Sweden once again.
Veteran Danish star Per Laursen will be partnered by a newcomer to the big stage, with 20-year-old Daniel Jensen set to make his televised debut, while Norway's Robert Wagner will team up with Cor Dekker.
Greece will make their World Cup of Darts debut, with John Michael set to be partnered by Ioannis Selachouglu, while the Czech Republic will be represented by Michal Kocik and Pavel Drtil and Italy's qualifiers are Daniele Petri and Michel Furlanis.
The remaining nations for the sell-out Betway World Cup of Darts will be announced following the advertised cut-off date of May 23.

It will be young and butler, Mrs butler confirmed she is looking to book tickets. That means probably porter has already called Tomlinson to confirm if young wanted to shoot with butler . We don't have qualifier for spot, young gets it on merit for basically qualifying for wc last year. No one better than butler anyways. Would you want to see double pump, pretend darts Kirchner or mediocre darts widmayer? Thin pickings for combo of quality and experience

tom sawyer's not too bad.
he just won the Cleveland darts extravaganza a half hour ago with a 93.6 avg in a field that included both butler & young.
which is a good avg. for an American.
our contenders are still a round too slow against the PDC "B" players for the most part.
they set up after 15 instead of going out and loose darts are just a lovable part of our style.
think we're getting better on the whole though.
oops! not sure if I was supposed reveal that.

Maybe so but hard to tell if they are getting better as never able to really find stats till recently so not much of a history to be objective. I think Butler and Young are way ahead of everyone else. Sawyer what has he done internationally? Never see his name progressing thru international fields. Not saying he has to win but you at least need to be winning those first couple games regularly at masters and hull qualifiers.
Time will tell I guess, obviously I am not one of the deluded few who thinks it is all coming up roses for American dart scene. CDC will only slow the pace of the gap in standard between us and them. They won't ever be able to bridge it. it

Tom Sawyer beat Glen Durrant in 501 singles 6 months ago.
bossed Scott Montgomery off the the board 3 years ago.
he's had very limited international experience.
has beaten Jamie Hughes. If I recall right, he was somebody at one time.
