Remind me of the matches lined up for the BBC, time for an afternoon napfandarts wrote:M H wrote:More PDC darts on free to air than ever and how does the BDO respond?fandarts wrote:pdc darts on subscription back in 1994 was bad, times are a changing, everyone has excess to media platforms now
we'll see, few crummy 3 rd rate events hardly sets the pulse racing, bbc sport still shows the world championship
"BT Sport broadcasting to a worldwide audience" is either an idiotic statement, a factually incorrect statement or a trolling statement, perm any from those threefandarts wrote:right so whats your point? or do you just want a monday troll?Dartsani wrote:Worldwide fans can watch streams no matter who broadcasts it.

If they do join, they are money-grabbing cunts.
Pretty fucked then.
Success or failure is relative to how high in the BDO a player went before switching I'd say. Bunting switched as Lakeside champ and few can say he hasn't succeeded so far. Then there was Hankey a two time BDO champ and sunk like a stone before running back with his tail between his legs.mattp wrote:so if they don't join PDC they are spineless, jobbers, bitter, big fish in little ponds

I reckon Green might do ok, but as usual, nobody seems to have a rough guide as to how to grade these things.
Winstanley was used as an example of someone who's not done well....yet he's Top 32 of the PDC. Same with Kellett. Chisnall has obviously stepped into the elite.
What is classed as success? Where is the cut-off point between success and a failure. Are we saying that nobody outside the Top 16 of PDC is worth a shit?
I reckon Green will be hovering round the mid-30's. Might go deep in a few leisure centre events. Might find it tough getting into Matchplay and Grand Prix though.
My personal hope is that everybody plays under the same organisation one day....wishful thinking. True, I wouldn't expect Robson to pull up any trees, but there is some dross littering the 20 - 32 positions in the PDC to be honest.Justin Credible wrote:mattp wrote:so if they don't join PDC they are spineless, jobbers, bitter, big fish in little ponds

not sure who this is aimed at but their is a huge difference between spineless and jobber, yes you can be both but are not mutually exclusive.
Fact is the majority of bdo players simply wont cut it in the pdc, and my own personal hope is that few actually switch as more clogger and jobber is not what the pdc want.
Green looks a better player in the bdo, the big fish small pond scenario, then so did pecker and countless others, the bdo is so weak a half decent jobber will always qualify.
If lakeshite champions like webster are struggling can you imagine what warty robson etc would be like.
As for money grabbing, if you took the time to read you will find the money grabbing comments were aimed at players who wont join the pdc but are happy to take their money, like fitton
On both sides as you said but the BDO jobbers are seeded at Lakesidemattp wrote:My personal hope is that everybody plays under the same organisation one day....wishful thinking. There will always be jobbers and cloggers unfortunately. The excellence of a handful ensures that.
There will always be a few cloggers, players sliding down the rankings, be it their age, or their lucky year or run is up, and its good to have some new blood. The bdo not only has them as well, but these cloggers are top seeds and among the favorites ffs.mattp wrote:My personal hope is that everybody plays under the same organisation one day....wishful thinking. Is that how you would describe the development tour? A tour open to anyone who has gone to Q school regardless of where they finshed!fandarts wrote:can only be one king of the jungle columba-what happens when they hit a bad patch? can they sustain the pdc lifestyle? the bdo incorporates all levels of form and ability and gives everyone a chance , the pdc is dog eat dog
