After his wonderful job of failing spectacuarly this week i'd hope he's no where near the Olympic squad if they have any desire to win a medal.

Seems the "Pearce for the big job" campaign has died a death.
Shame, i was about to sign up to it.

England have the majority of better u-23's to choose from so it makes sense that to appease other nations choose a non English manager/coach, couple that with the fact that Scots make better mangers than any other home nation and it's a no brainer.

SAF would be the perfect appointment for a one off of this nature in my opinion.

Hmm, given that the BBC would be broadcasting it...

Walter Smith would be my candidate if SAF didn't want it. As he's quit at Rangers, would be temporary, has experience at international level, european and club.
Would be a good thank you for the service he's given as well.
Failing that give it to Souness, the strong would revel in it and the weak would be eaten alive.

Watty would be a good shout.

Don't think Watty would get it, hasn't earned enough respect in England due to his failings at Everton & the English don't care what he's achieved up here, Souness on the other hand is well respected

Who by and for what, talking about a game on Sky doesn't count.

More for his playing career than managerment but he is still well thought of (not by me I may add)

Agree with his rep for his playing days, fantastic midfielder. His managerial efforts have not been of the same calibre though.

The souness school of diplomacy failed after one incident in particular.

Its the passion he displays which I find most appealing, would of loved to of seen him come up against Keane.

Great Britain are to field football teams at the 2012 Olympics made up of players from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, the British Olympic Association has announced.
Nothing like back tracking.

Wonder if Jack Wiltshire will be too tired to play.

Clearly he'll be too tired for euro 2012 if England qualify.
