Im not the worlds best chucker, so don't feel too qualified to comment. But agree with Dicie, just ease up on that shoulder movement when you release. Cracking follow through though mate.

Follow thru - I spoke to an Irish pro about this in tramore.

he likes to see the fingers aimed towards the target area on release.

Thanks lads.

Will keep working at it, in really good form at the moment, and believe if I get the action steadier then it will improve further.

How much do they charge for this?
It looks like a pub.

You are all invited to visit my local... Sorry, 'darts performance center' and I will film you in high speed so you can analyse your throws.

This is in my garage mate, with my lad filming! No cost here!

Lee, do you rock or jerk like that when you throw a stone, or throw something across the room?

I remember Dave Whitcombe asked me if my hand shakes when I throw a piece of paper in a bin. It's a good point

Probably not Al, as we all know when we've got a dart in our hand all sense of normality goes out of the window!

Martin's point is basically saying the same.

I am playing okay at the moment (mid 20's Superleague ave) so don't want to fuck things up by tinkering too much, but would love to "steady things up" a bit!

Maybe need to work on my stance, more so than the throw itself?

I lost all faith in the "if it works dont mend it" statement when i seen the like of taylor hit a 104 tv average and the next week use a different set of darts m8. If you are changing to improve surely its a good thing.

When i look at hendo and lewis and a few others that move/rock i wonder what the fuck Rod harrington is talking about, everyone throws differently m8, so if it is working for you and you are comfortable with it i say go with it.

But maybe just stand at the oche, dont aim for anything in particualr and just "pitch" the dart, cause there shud be a differnece in standard imo between a darts pitcher and a darts chucker, the pitcher shud win 95% of the time, his standard shud rise with practice.

Hendo, lewis, Hylton, burnett would of course all tell rod to shut it!!!

I've got the weirdest grip and release, the point rests inside my fingernail and I spin the dart with my thumb. Tried changing it many times but it just doesn't feel comfortable.

Ah but it's full speed. That slow motion makes all the difference ;)
