Re: The Mandela Effect
I can remember a couple of instances like this from when I was at school. Before you could easily Google things people just believed a lot of stuff that was incorrect and it was hard to convince them otherwise.
There was a teacher at my Primary School who taught us for a whole year that there were 7 States in Australia. (It's 6, and has been since 1901). I told her one day I thought it was 6 and she said The Northern Territory had become a State. (It had not)
I can also remember our Atlas in Secondary School saying that Johannesburg was the Capital of South Africa. Literally no-one in the class including the Teacher would believe me when I said it wasn't.

Maybe all of you were correct and had experienced a slightly different reality from each other.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 7:04 am I can remember a couple of instances like this from when I was at school. The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

The Mandela Effect is a bit more fancy than that. It's about slipping between different dimensions, parallel worlds and all that fun stuff.

I don't think I'd seen it written down until it was mentioned on here today.

There are still people that think Vienna by Ultravox got to number 1 in the U.K. back in 1981. When it only made number 2 and was kept off the top spot by that Joe Dolce record.
