Wadey will win one in his mid to late 40's then retire.

I can't say it's an inevitability as it's so hard to win, but Dimi and Humphries could have 25+ more cracks at it

Luke Humphries based on last years performances could go close, and of course depending on his development Rock won't be far away perhaps.

This is very interesting as I'm too out of the loop to have much of a clue.
Any more suggestions on this theme? Leighton Bennett maybe, or did he go too mad.

I mean, these guys could still be paying in 2063, anything could happen! Could be the next Taylor, could be the next Justin van Tergouw!Rogg wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 9:58 pmThis is very interesting as I'm too out of the loop to have much of a clue.

Outside of the 2012 tournament, Wade has hardly ever played well at the World Championship. Even in 2009 and 2013 when he got to the semis, or 2008 when he got to the quarters, he was certainly below par by his standards, although it's incredible that he won 4 sets against Van Gerwen in 2013, including the 17 perfect darts by MvG set, as Wade was completely outscored in the match. The 2012 tournament he looked excellent when beating Farmer 4-0, that classic with Part 5-4 that went right to the wire, and going 5-1 up against Lewis with Hamilton waiting in the final. Wade's reputation back then was that he won majors that Taylor didn't win, as well as having a ridiculously good TV record against Lewis, something like 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.

The pandemic got in the way, probably. A momentum killer for so many.thegentle wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 4:45 pmIronically he did have a purple patch in 2019 when he made the Worlds and then the Matchplay the summer after, but went back to jobbing soon after and lost his tour card at the start of last yearRogg wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 4:21 pmI think coughgate really cost him his love of it.TheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 4:05 pm Gutting Pipe has quit darts as he was still a good player, just struggled for a little bit cos of injury but he’d have bounced back comfortably

Van Tergouw thing from 2022. Gearing up for a go it seems.

Eager to get right back to business in the sport, Justin said: “I would like to thank Mac and his team for this opportunity and for believing in me”.
Determinedly, he added: “My ambition is to get a tour card and become a professional darts player. That has been my dream since I was 6-years old. “I hope Mac [Elkin] can take me to the next level as he is a top manager.“ Once upon a time, I was a back-to-back World Youth Champion so it would be a nice thing to achieve in the men’s”, smiled Justin.
