Your 1.95 has to pay dozens of people whose costs are all going up which leads to you paying more
Yep but wages are not going up.
Speak for yourself.
I am I had 1 crappy 3% last year and that's all I have had in 10 year and I work for the government ffs.
So you didnt get anything a few weeks ago then or is it not local government?
No HMRC people voted for the 3% last year loads joined the union just to vote to get the 3% ie a load of new starters

Because you started working full time?
I took on more responsibilities
My actual regular pay raise was also only 3%

Hang on so you have to be in a union to get a pay rise? That doesnt sound right at all.
I work with loads of people who arent in a union, everyone got the rise regardless.

Yeah everyone got a rise but it was put to the unions first we got 3% back dated to 2020 then two 5% over 2 year but they lobbed in contract reform as part of. We had the option of accepting or rejecting it but I think it was like 80% accepted it but lots signed up especially to vote on it.

If u were not in union you got the 3% back dated to 2020 then 5% this year and next but contract reform meant Saturdays included

If u are in the union you got to choose you could have the above or just the 3% and stay on current contract.

When I started in retail we didn't open Sundays or bank holidays. When that changed my contract changes.

The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.
