Nearly chisled my finger off in the process, but manned up and got on with the job.

Only reason I do DIY is to use it for rewarding myself for doing a good job with more beer than usual.

other than painting, garden work, putting down flooring, putting up a few shelves and the barest bit of sloppy bricklaying, that is my limit of the DIY situation

Ha, too right. My words to the wife when id finished were along the lines of "I hope to god there's a bloody large glass of red poured !!"

guess it helps among my buddies / brothers capenters, window fabricators, builders, painters and sand blasters.......though rarely ever have the need to call on them bar the carpenter
