Why were they booing him? He is hardly offensive and doesn’t do anything from what I can see what would antagonise a crowd.
I liken it to going to an all-you-can-eat buffet.
you're already full, but you still go back for one more plate of something, anything.
the crowd just did not want it to end.
they wanted one more plate.
nothing really personal.

They should have booed Bunting who ate most of the food!
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

Although in fairness, there is no shame being beaten by a better player.
He will make a maiden major tv final at some point
Yet to be seen.

People thought he would crack the top 10 in the PDC easily, yet he hasn't come close really after almost a decade.
Tbf, when he first joined the PDC he was imo one of the top 10 players in the world, only the ranking system went against him. For a good part of his PDC career he has been a solid top 20 player. He was ranked 24 prior to this event, I haven’t seen an updated ranking list but a semi final could well push him into the top 20 again.
As for him making a ‘major’ final? Who knows, for me he is a better player than Ross Smith and Gilding who have won one recently.

All trolling aside, in an open era with no all time great Bunting has as good a chance as any of finally breaking his finals duck.

After his first two years in the PDC he was only ranked 17th.

He's ranked 21st currently. Scheduled to be 18th currently after the Worlds.

That's all he is, a solid 16-24th ranked player in the PDC. All this talk of him being a top PDC player is wishful thinking.

People have claiming this about Chizzy and King for years, at least in terms of winning a TV event.

No one thinks he's a top player but his form seems to be on the up this year and we are happy

Not a Bunting hater by any stretch, but he seems to have been 'on the up' for the past 2/3 years, and yet he's still around the 20 mark in the rankings

What's the highest he's been? Did he scrape the top 16 at some point?

He entered the 2016 PDC worlds as the 17th seed, but his year end ranking in 2015 was 16th. That's his highest year end ranking to date.

Otherwise, he's always been ranked between 17th and 24th at year's end.
