There were 119 WDF ranking events, excluding the World Championships, in 2024 (2 less for women, an Australian weekend didn't get enough/any entries). This compares with 102 in 2023. Most of the growth in numbers is due to the increased number of tournaments, with some having expected high entries (eg Las Vegas Classic, World Masters, World Open).
Entries:
Men (includes World Masters):
23816 (19978) +19%
Women (includes World Masters):
6005 (4733) +27%
Of the 85 events for men which were held in both 2023 and 2024, the increase is 1036. 70% of this increase comes from the Dutch Open alone (+717), so overall, excluding this great event, the picture is fairly flat. For women, the increase is 142 overall, so again, flat to all intents and purposes. The Welsh events suffered from the change to England from Prestatyn, and some events in the States, New Zealand and Mongolia did well. The England events are a positive, as they didn't happen in 2023, but the actual numbers were really poor.
WDF Entry/Tournament money (excludes World Masters and World Championships) - healthy growth in income overall, but from such a low base the actual figures are never going to look impressive:
Again, compared with 2023:
WDF Player Levy ($2 per person):
Men - $46,998 ($39,956)
Women - $11,616 ($9,466)
Tournament Levy:
$36,850 ($31,150)
Total Income:
$95,464 ($80,572) +18%

Re: WDF Tour 2024
Lastly, the prize money offered by region last year, and number of tournaments in each points bracket, compared with 2023. Green is better than 2023, red is worse, nothing the same. New Zealand is no change as the financial difference is all about exchange rate changes:

Re: WDF Tour 2024
Bit sad that 2 majors and a gold dont offer more than 268k for both the men and women. Will be real interesting to see what the prize money of Lakeside this year will be. Even with the decline of Australia they still had a lot of players at Lakeside (although the 2 year ranking helped). Will be also interesting to see how the one year ranking which now is in place will effect attendance
