Why do you doubt it? A couple of things explained.

They rent the car from a dealer for a couple of days to put it on show.

They insure the prize as the premium would be more than affordable.

The big prize costs a pittance compared to the publicity value

They do this to get publicity for their company who operates in the Drenthe region in Holland.
RTV Drenthe is the TV company that broadcast the competition.
There were adverts for Broekhuis in the breaks.

They could possibly insure it. But I doubt a big dealership would worry about giving a car away.

This is simple business and business don't give away a penny more than they have to. Next year they may well find the premium doubled or trebled and then they'll take a view.

Business doesn't bet, a high value prize is always insured where it's economical to do so. The odds were massively in the sponsor's favour as there's no real history of these players hitting nine darters which won't be the case next year.
