Re: Footie
I've no issue with incentifying winning.
Promotion should be decided on your performance across the league season.
Your in the top 3 you go up
Your 6th you dont

Re: Footie
This would have made the Championship season boring as the Top 3 were well clear.
Play offs are fine, But perhaps a rethink may be needed

If the 3rd placed team was clear then they'd earned the promotionoche balboa wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 9:54 amThis would have made the Championship season boring as the Top 3 were well clear.

Well no. It would have led to dull games, Perhaps the play offs would be better if the 3rd place club gets a byeRandall wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 10:00 amIf the 3rd placed team was clear then they'd earned the promotionoche balboa wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 9:54 amThis would have made the Championship season boring as the Top 3 were well clear.

Having to beat teams potentially 10-15 points behind them makes no sense ro me

A team finishing 6th in a lower division is very likely to be coming straight back down from the 1 aboveSafc wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 11:53 amMakes massive sense to me especially if we go upRandall wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 10:08 amIf they were clear they hadoche balboa wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 10:04 amWell no. Re: Footie
I'm little surprised they have never done what they do in the National League so 3rd and 4th get a bye and 5th play 8th and 6th play 7th as 1 leg games.oche balboa wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 10:04 amWell no. I don't agree with this mind but it's the type of money making scheme Sky and the EFL would love

The gulf is that big now whoever goes up they are more than likely coming back down the last 2 seasons now all 3 promoted teams have come straight back down.
Only one who possibly might stay up next season is Leeds and even then they will need circa of a 200m spend I would think.

There were basically 4 good sides ( in the championship) this season. There was a big scramble for the play offs. Coventry under Lampard have been very good to be fair and they should be there next season, as will the loser of Sunderland/pigs. Leicester and Soton will be there or there abouts and maybe Ipswich.
