So basically the extent of the BDO's relevance in this tournament was to knock out Willie O'Connor and deny Ross Smith some pocket money

Even if you subtract the women, the BDO men still went 2-13. None of them proceeded to the knockout phase.

The PDC Floor Qualifiers went 13-11. 5/8 will proceed to the knockout phase.

Out of all the BDO representatives, perhaps Toyota impressed the most.
Jim Williams only beat Smudger who wasn't playing well. Not so impressive for someone who won one of the BDO majors this year.

Not a fair comparison. The BDO players didn't play the worst players in the field.
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.
