The lack of crowd doesn't even register with me.
Good night all
agreed, great event and don't miss the crowd at all really.
It would be very very strange if there are no crowds at the Worlds, but yes, I can appreciate the game of darts enough where I don't need a crowd to enjoy it, sometimes crowds are even a nuisance
Wouldn’t be able to stage it would they without crowds, have to be a Des and reduce the prize fund.

He played well, but too inconsistent. I believe he got through thanks to set play, but in a leg play...

Always liked Suljovic, even in his very early PDC days, and remember being very pleasantly surprised when he started to become a top player. Genuinely don't know if he's overachieved or underachieved, but we'll always have the Champions League!

Began to follow Dimi more closely after pushing eventual world champion Rob Cross all the way at Ally Pally, I thought it would be a smooth path to stardom from there...er, not quite!

Thanks mate. I don’t post much on here although I read it all. Nice to know someone has remembered Dirk’s number one fan!

Speaking of nicknames, is this the first time two players with the same nickname have won the same tournament? Midnight thoughts.

Price too good but Chizzy should have had him in the semi's, I blame Russ Bray he had at least 4 fuck ups that game and then does it to Chizzy again in the last leg decider ffs playing a stormer leg right in a flow on 68 after 9 darts and he stops him in his tracks making a balls of Price's visit.

Whitlock doesn't even take the tops off of his, made me think I can't ever remember him taking a bit of water on stage.

Dirk finished the job well, no choking which impressed me.
Don't think he is a jobber
To lose the jobber tag you to show some consistency, he is talented but there is talented jobbers who just make up the numbers 99% of the events and usually fold with sub 90 averages.

I wish him well, heavy scorerers are always fun.
You're being incredibly harsh even suggesting Dirk is a jobber. He's on a fresh card, done well to even qualify for the WGP and has now lost to Price this year in a major final, a Euro Tour semi final (after beating Woodhouse, White, de Zwaan and Aspinall) and in a Pro Tour semi final. He's having an amazing breakout year.

Definitely, a lot do to varying degrees I notice (I have it myself), Cullen is another but his has lessened since no crowds.

For Majors, almost certainly.

I can think of 3 other players who have won PDC Titles using 'recycled' nicknames of other PDC Title Winners, and they are all Australian.

Cadby

Took my mate to both the Saturday sessions for this CL.
He was always reluctant to go to the darts but he loved it.
He was rooting for Mensur all the way through, as he was the complete underdog. And now he's always been a Mensur fan.

Current holders of Premier PDC (singles) titles. Runners-up in brackets. There won't be a 2020 Champions League as far as I know.

After Thursday, Price will hold as many as MVG and arguably a more prestigious three - too early to work that out. If Wright wins on Thursday, he'll also hold three.

2019 Premier League............................ Michael van Gerwen (Cross)
2019 Champions League........................ Michael van Gerwen (Wright)
2019 European Championship.................. Rob Cross (Price)
2019 Grand Slam of Darts...................... Gerwyn Price (Wright)
2019 Players Championship Finals............ Michael van Gerwen (Price)
2020 World Championship...................... Peter Wright (van Gerwen)
---
2020 Masters...................................... Peter Wright (Smith)
2020 UK Open.................................... Michael van Gerwen (Price)
2020 World Matchplay........................... Dimitri Van den Bergh (Anderson)
2020 World Series Finals........................ Gerwyn Price (Cross)
2020 World Grand Prix........................... Gerwyn Price (van Duijvenbode)
