Since you are obviously too thick to grasp the point allow me to make it simple like you, in much the same way posts are explained for fanny and oche.

I am referring to the selection of players in the team......I am sure the italian team you refer to had a set criteria in place to form the selection process.

i dont see a problem with using the averages as a guide and then using discretion.

a player who has a hot spell and tops the averages is not going to be chosen ahead of waites if he happened to be having a rough trot.

if a player comes through and stays there it will be rewarded in due course.

in theory yes, but the bdo unlike the pdc do not operate on a 2 year OoM , but for bunting to not even make the squad makes it a complete joke

What happens is is that the EDO announce the panal of players that will compete in the next years internationals. From that panal they pick the various teams during the season. At the time the panal for this season was announced Bunty hadnt had his hot spell and wasnt in those selected so by the rules they then cant pick him in front of the panel already selected. No ideal but thats the rules they use.

Likewise the NI team for example for the nations cup is picked entirely on the previous seasons averages, no manager selection or discretion, this seasons do not count towards it, but obviously will for the world cup in the autumn, when a new average list will have been completed at end of county season

so in effect the most inform players are therefore possible to miss out as in the case of bunting.
A stupid decision, you would think the picking of squads would be done a lot nearer to the actual event in order to select the form players.

Tommy Thomson posted on TSOD that the selectors can pick a player at their discretion, so Bunty could have been picked.

possibly but when the pdc reward players on performances from past months or the previous year they are slated for their 2 year order of merit......I myself think it needs to go, but when the bdo pick squads on past performances rather than inform are they not in effect doing similar to the pdc in picking players who were better 6 months or more ago than current.
