Utterly clueless
Old achievements get dismissed far too casually a lot of the time by young folks.
On the other hand, us old cunts are often guilty of doing the opposite - dismissing new achievements - and that's no better.

Lowe only played Taylor twice in the 2000s.
The first meeting came at the 2000 Matchplay where Lowe lost 16-4. The second came at the 2002 Matchplay where Lowe did actually run Taylor close, losing 17-15. Prior to those two meetings, Lowe had been thrashed in their previous four meetings, dating back to their close semi-final game at the 1995 PDC World Championship.
In other words, the 2002 game was an anomaly in their head to head. By the late 90s Lowe was certainly not "giving as good as he got", let alone well into the 2000s.

But was that game representative of how Lowe and Taylor generally fared against each other? Taylor radically under-performed for one thing, on the night after his 9er.
I'm going to guess that Taylor actually destroyed him for years and years.

It is difficult for sure. I don't know how to do it. The key probably is to analyse everything with a light touch and not be extreme about it, unless for a giggle.
Deller's 83 title is mentioned on here now and again. Have you ever sneered about Deller's achievement by bringing up pomp Doug? I'd imagine not. But it's the first thing you'll do when we get a new champ in a few weeks, regardless of who it is and how they played. Let's not call this fair.

Btw, Headshaker was very lucky to be in the BDO without a peak Taylor, MVG or Bristow to rival him.
He would have been a world champion in a unified field, but a 5x champion? No chance.

Yes. and often the reason why games stick in the mind is
because they are anomalies. Thinking of Chizzy very memorably thrashing MVG at the Worlds a few years back. The endless cuntings by MVG are long forgotten because they were pointless and boring but it's those which show the truth of their 'rivalry'. Unfortunately.

Dellar beat the greatest player off all time at that stage to win
Needs no defence
