Americans playing Americans (or any country that has a piss poor standard) on the CDC tour isn't going to create players that can compete on the PDC tour. A tour comprised of players playing in the mid to low 80's at their best isn't going to create players who can consistently play in the low 90's. It just creates a few more players who can play in the mid to low 80's. If you want to compete at the top end of the game you have to go where the top end of the game is played.
Yes I know it seems obvious but again over here it causes heads to explode. What is funny if you say the same thing about say basketball or 'merican football every fucker here agrees but nope darts is special for some reason.
Is it's purpose to create players though or as i would argue to a) get/keep players into the game and b) identify those with the potential to make the step you want them to.
I'm sure a lot of high school basketball is rubbish but serves the same purposes, people like competing and playing games and the best are usually (due to the average standard you mention) easily identifiable to then progress to college basketball and so on and so on.
think your missing the point a bit and trying to make an argument where there is none. But thanks for playing and try again at another time.
And for the record the vision of the CDC is to develop the next North American World Darts Champion (and they mean the PDC) This is their words not mine.
Well they are making progress are they not? Eye test says the competitiveness of their qualifiers for Ally Pally has been better in the last couple of years and the tour is till relatively in it's infancy.

World cup of darts is a shit event, shit format, and a lot of shit players. I know fans want to wave their countries flag and root for whatever crap player comes from their little shit hole country for no other reason than their mothers spit them out on the same soil. And this is exactly why I root for Wales a shit place for a shit event lol.
It's a fun event but would be hugely improved if it was played without singles.

Considering the covid pandemic is also influencing the sport of darts I'd be for a system that replaces ET spots that got available because of people not playing firstly by adding players that were supposed to play in an earlier ET tournament but couldn't come (as opposed to refused to go), and then add more spots for Home Nation qualifiers.

Too short notice most of the time and could be an unfair advantage to European TC holders that would get more (unearned) opportunities just because of being nearer in location and able to drive there etc.

You surprised me stupidswede. Thought for sure you would want to shoe horn in a woman or at least add a womens match. Or are the ETs not high profile enough to fuck up with women matches?

How are you defining that?
He's won many more PDC Titles than all bar Taylor. Did he win most of them with his A-game?

Is this thread real?! Shit. Looks like I have some backtracking to do... I may have said something very worrying about Jackie.

Going for the bull checkout is not a good choice if your opponent is above 160. This is a fact, but some people are still unaware of it or are in denial, hence might be controversial.
In fact I think statistical analysis should be used much more in darts. There are lots of people (for example on twitter) who spend their free time compiling stats and analysis, so we might as well benefit from it instead of just treating them as "hey here are some nice numbers to look at". Players should use statistics for example to rethink their setup and outshot strategies, or to analyse their game and see where they need further improvement.

What do you think of the subject? Do you think darts would benefit from using statistical analysis more?
