For starters 20kg is very light.
For your main course, progressive overload just means adding a plate or two extra each time you go to the gym, or doing more reps than last time at the same weight.
And for your afters, woooooof!
I've gone up on the seated chest press from 35-55 kg in a short space of time so I'm obviously doing something right.
Good progress, 'newbie gains' are the fastest, you'll gain more strength in the first year than any other, do you use the seated row? What weight can you do on that? If you're pressing 55kg try to pull at least 55kg too to prevent injury/imbalances in the future, far too many people do chest and neglect the back, you see them all over the gym look at how many people have rounded shoulders, a sure sign of a weak back and too much chest work.

My gym membership runs out today, so I won't try anything else there. I'll try to use all the equipment in the gym at uni though, see how it goes.

Row strength?
I use the rowing cardio machine, but I assume that's not what you are talking about.
I pushed the boat out and had a brief go on something called a "pec ___", which was like two cushions you pushed together with your arms. That was good.

Aye, the old pec deck, that's just chest as well, new lifters go mad on that and the press.
Here's the seated row with good form, skip to about 40 seconds
It's just the opposite of the chest press really, and as the back (lats) is a much bigger muscle group you should be using more weight on this than the chest press, will stop you getting injured, use more calories than the press, release more beneficial hormones, all round make you more buff. Throw in the lat pulldown too for your back until you can do pull ups.

I do the lat pulldown occasionally, but my right arm tends to struggle with it. I'll see if the gym at my uni has one of those, it looks good, although I've got a genetic bad back

That's not genetic, that'll be caused by your massive moobs.
