2 Masters / NOTW / British Matchplay and 2 world runner ups ( in a unified field) that beats many of the players I mentioned above.

Dave was cheated of a world title by fluke of birth
Had he been active 95-2016 he definitely wins world titles.
As it was he wasn't and he didn't.

I'd say he was a better player than most of the post split champions but they have it on the cv
