Re: TT's Tea Thread
not sure if steve grubbish is a member on here yet but i have it on good authority that for his tea tonight he had
kfc's latest special the "russian doll chicken meal deal"
a chicken inside a chicken inside a chicken inside a chicken inside a chicken inside a chicken - all coated in breadcrumbs - with a 10 litre soft drink - a bucket of fries, a 5 litre tub of baked beans and 5 litre tub of coleslaw - apparantley he "went large" too but i have no idea what that gets you extra

Sounds lovely. Am growing my own veg again this year so will have (hopefully) cucumbers, tomatoes, beetroot, spring onions, sugar snap peas and lettuce from there. Can hardly wait.

All of mine are grown in boxes. Those cheapo storage boxes from DIY shops. The ground here is crap so I bought a load of them and some compost. Get four tomato plants in one of those.

Re: TT's Tea Thread
My Tea tonight was slightly over cooked due to me taking an important work call which in the evening is always annoying at best.
Cooking corned beef and bean pie is an art in its self so i have to report that i was unsuccessful in creating an harmonious tea!
An omlette is always an excellent "Tea" rescue measure served with home sliced buttered bread cubes

Ah omlette, indeed a great rescue measure. My mate has her own chickens, great omlette from those eggs, and really yellow which freaked me out initially.

People are cottoning on to the shite the supermarkets sell us.....progs like River Cottage have started to make people see things in a different light.sat wrote:Ah omlette, indeed a great rescue measure. Have you noticed how high people pile their trollies with shite? Amazing how much stuff we dont really need or chuck away on a regular basis...

Ha, River 'rich people poncing about' Cottage.
But yes you are right, and everything tastes better fresh from the garden. I wish I could have some chickens here, but my place back onto fields and I have seen many foxes. Can't be doing with that.
