In the early to mid 90s GN'R were the biggest band in the world but as they have done fuck all of note since then, you may be correct. I'm a huge GN'R fan so my pick was slightly biased.

AC/DC are probably the biggest heavy metal band ever so they should be there

Heavy Rock/Metal's not really my cup of tea but i can see your point.
