I remember back in the old days listening to Chelsea's progress in the Cup Winners Cup with the old feller. Must have been a BBC station as there wasn't any commercial stations then.

Radio commentators sell the game better (guess they have to as you cant see it) but it gets you more engrossed.
When you hear their voices get louder as a team beats down on goal and you freeze in anticipation of what might happen next...

Could be why a lot of people listen to Test Match Special while they watch the cricket.

My favourite thing to listen too is Alan green being forced to commentate on Utd winning, because it clearly destroys his soul.
