to be honest i wish he didnt have to either. wanted both of them to have good tournaments.

webster is going to go down to John Part like a rutabaga casserole. I really didn't want to bring
vegetables into this, but I will if I have to. Now back off, I've got an onion
and some carrots and am not afraid to use them!

Looking for possible upsets and these stand out for me.

Wes Newton (8, ENG) v Andy Smith (ENG)
Simon Whitlock (5, AUS) v Peter Wright (ENG)
Colin Lloyd (13, ENG) v John Henderson (SCO)
Terry Jenkins (7, ENG) v Steve Beaton (ENG)
Raymond van Barneveld (6, NED) v Steve Brown (ENG)

Wes is possible the most inform player at the moment bar Ando and possibly Wade, but andy is playing as well as ever.
Expect Wes to win it but only just.

Think Whitlock will be too strong, hit a 9 darter saturday and a semi spot yesterday...comming good at the right time...even if wright is playing well on the floor.

Hendo is my pick of your third match, lloyd is out of sorts and hendo has made brilliant progress since joining, along with chissy.

Got to go with the Bull.I know beaton on his day can be great, like when he beat taylor in the WGP but Jenks does it on TV in the majors time after time.

Expect Brown to take headshaker, Brown is playing solid and barney is all over the place.

I'd also have put Chissy in to be Walsh but I don't consider that to be a shock as we all know Walsh isn't the same player in front of the cameras.

funnily enough was thinking the same about brown -v-barney...a brown victory would not be a shock to me.

The word "shock" should only be used when it is really a big upset.

Amazing really regarding Barney. A few years back we'd be confidently predicting a smooth run to the business end at least.

Was discussing Barney last night and was saying were he to miss automatic spot for the next PL would he be deserving of a wildcard ?
Its not like he would win it but would only make up the numbers.

With the greatest player Taylor, world champ Lewis, uk open champ Wade. PL winner Ando so far ahead barney is fast becoming a jobber.
Wes newton,Chissy and a host of others including a resurgent john Part are playing better than barney.

With Taylor, Lewis, Gando and Wade expected to be the top four Barney would be relying on a wildcard. I'd wonder whether he'd accept it?

Suspect he would for the money......his sponsors would encourage him.
Would he deserve it though ? I think he should get one .....but only ever one, unless miracle of miracles he actually wins another major.....

I agree one wildcard but I think because of his name he'll get more. I still wonder if he'll accept it as he doesn't need the money
