A nickname should be one that is given to you by others ideally so god forbid Thorn actually ever gets to the stage in darts where he feels the need for a nickname as I don't think 'The Twat' or 'Utter Cunt' would really be acceptable.
Plus it's already taken by your good self.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 7:46 pm Think a few years ago I gave my thoughts on players nicknames, It is one thing that really pisses me off with players that think they have to have a nickname and make up any old shite they can think of or copy an existing players nickname, Take 'Cobra' for example, I know at least 4 players with that nickname.

Totally inappropriate nickname. Could you imagine if in the future Dave gets himself on to Modus. Think even on Sporty TV would be an issue.KingBinglin wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 9:18 pmPlus it's already taken by your good self.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 7:46 pm Think a few years ago I gave my thoughts on players nicknames, It is one thing that really pisses me off with players that think they have to have a nickname and make up any old shite they can think of or copy an existing players nickname, Take 'Cobra' for example, I know at least 4 players with that nickname.

Good evening David. Have you been sharing a couple of bottles of Buckfast across the fence with your next door neighbour again?daveboygreen wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 10:54 pm Super Sonic Job Seeking Arsehole is getting very boring and the cunt is less than 500 posts into his life on TDF.
I worked for a company twice who's building was owned by Mays Carpets and I used to use fitters that worked for Mays (Most were self employed) to fit flooring and had a lot of dealings as well with Mays. The real ssjsa wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 11:22 pmGood evening David. Wasn't a 100% sure if the Super Sonic Job Seeking arsehole was referring to me, but if so wholly inaccurate. I am 60 in April and the only time I have ever been technically unemployed was for 8 months in 2015/16 after agreeing a substantial settlement to leave the business I had beeen employed with for over 20 years. Those 8 months off were great but got bored, so went back to the grind of gainful employment and have been working ever since.
I remember on another forum you posted that you used to fit carpets for Mays Carpets and think at the time I advised you that following my previous company acquiring that business from the Mays brothers, I actually ran that business, so surprised that our paths did not cross if you were working in either the Abingdon or Swindon units post buyout. Anyway apologies if you were not referring to me.
Ah right. So you were never a carpet fitter and only sub contracted carpet fitters that worked for that business. My mistake.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 11:29 pmI worked for a company twice who's building was owned by Mays Carpets and I used to use fitters that worked for Mays (Most were self employed) to fit flooring and had a lot of dealings as well with Mays. The real ssjsa wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 11:22 pmGood evening David. Not when I returned to work for them but did a lot of fitting during my first stint up until the business changed and I was made responsible for other things. The real ssjsa wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 11:36 pmAh right. Being from that trade you must have crossed paths with one of my first ever bosses from Oxford/Abingdon called Clive Morgan. The Mays used to offer him a job every other week. The real ssjsa wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 11:36 pmAh right. Let's be honest, the only way Dave will ever get near needing a nickname for darts is if he begins identifying as a woman. The real ssjsa wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 10:44 pmTotally inappropriate nickname. For me Dave "Walter Mitty" Green might be both an acceptable and wholly accurate moniker. Or Dave "Vanquisher of Thirsty Matt" Green.
Don't quote Smithy ffs!
