Quite a choice as it happens, I had 55 quid in tesco vouchers when I done the shopping on monday so decided to load up the drinks bar.....well as you can guess the 55 quid only took about 2 quid off each bottle lol....but ive got a nice bottle of brandy I may well indulge in later, might have to as im still in shock looking at the reciept....never spent as much shopping in my life!!!.....Still though...got a lovely big joint of roast beef im gonna stick in the oven later

Iv read mardle, anderson and a few more looking to take drink out of the sport of darts for pro tour events, it is bad enough having to play in sterile leisure centres, with no noise without having to do it sober.
The pdc as far as i know make a tidy wedge from the bars at floor events, when you see the prices they charge it is easy to see why this is so.
Iv been back stage at the embassy, and iv seen players prepare for the biggest game of there lives, could they get on stage sober, yes they could, could they perform to the best of there ability without a drink, not a hope.Drink doesnt make you a better player, it just controls the nerves a small bit so youre natural game can hopefully come thru.
This is the bit i just dont get, in a host of other sports this just dosn't happen....Top snooker players for example play as far as i'm aware sober...nerves must play a big part in that game also?
Agree with all what Dicie has said, with regards to snooker you have alot more composure time, a frame last as long as most pro-tour matches, however just like darts a new breed of player has emerged and like snooker I think sooner rather than later drinking will vanish from our sport.
agree with this...
however one of the things that made darts so popular was the drinking itself.
How often can you have a pint at an exbo with a pro.
Would hardly happen in any other sport, in a way its the drink that unifies the sport with the pub players.

There's still a big drinking culture in Rugby at the highest level, culminating in shoving your head in a big pair of tits, lobbing yourself off a ferry, or being a sex pest with hotel concierges.
Not during the game, obviously, but a teetotal rugby player is probably rarer than a teetotal dart player...

Yep, all going well, hope the economic fragility we are currently experiencing isn't dampening the desire for premium kitchens in the East Midlands area.
