Never rated him. Still don't. But fair fucking play. From Noppert and Ross Smith last year, Dobey and Gilding this year, and of course M. Smith getting over the line in bombastic fashion, we have been in for a lot of madness lately. No one will convince me Cunt Taylor or Van Chemo lapping up all the titles was nearly as exciting as this current era.

Gilding being a new winner has helped distract from Van Gerwen's failures. 4 darts missed to go 9-6 up. Then after breaking back for 9-7, he was broken in 16, which included scoring 25 on 179.

It's hard to be too excited without a real elite.

They can fuck off. 3 of the 4 "elite" players in MVG Wright and Price are complete twats anyway.

Most of the elite since Philth have been total cunts. Ando is a miserable prick. Wright's an embarassment, a fake scotsman and a twat. Van Gerwen is just a mutant, Price a total cunt who can give it in sticks but can't take it.

As far as I'm concerned I'd much rather lads like Bunty, James Wilson, Gilding winning a pot here and there than one of that mob cleaning up like Philth.

Actually I'll go on record as saying I'd have Ross the boss cleaning up than that lot

Fair point. The Boss does deserve a big title but I fear he might have left it too late

Ross can put on a good game but he was a card carrying BDO loyalty twat, complete with being bezzie m8s with the selectas at one point so I tend to have little love for him. But he like others in the BDO could have done well in the PDC and made themselves a good bit of coin. Waites fucked his shoulder doing his day job and will never play the way he did in that grand slam again. Should have switched immediately. Other folks that should have switched (some sooner) include

- John Walton who was unplayable at that 2001 embassy (one of the worst BDO fields ever assembled mind, but he was head and shoulders better that year or two)
- Merv
- Toplad O'Bottlejob who perpetually suffered from big fish small pond syndrome and fell into the travel club habit.
- Duzza (who did play PDC events before falling for the BDO4Life mentality) who will perpetually be a what if thanks to the coughing disease.
- Fordham

All of the above can put on great performances and most of them can be box office too. Sadly too many of them switched late or didn't switch at all. Wasted their primes, or allowed health issues to impact their game.

Other names but not as notable.
Yozza, Cammy, Wes Harms, Noppy, Veenstra, McGeeney, Geert De Vos.

Not saying they'd have ripped up trees immediately (top 10 PDC easily from Runt springs to mind), but iron sharpens iron, and in the case of De Vos who can put out performances that just blow away other players, you cant help but think he'd have been flying.
