Re: The worst world champions
I'd only probably pick Duff tbh. Warren seemed to play really well in the tournament he did win it.

Also a Paul Linwood enjoyer

Re: The worst world champions
Disagree, mate. Waites averages in his 2 Finals were poor but he had no opposition in those games.
His win over Duzza in the 2016 QF was excellent. Duff would have lost that game 5-0 or 5-1.

Re: The worst world champions
Worst player or worst championship campaign?
If it's worst player:
1) Duff
2) Warren
3) Mitchell
4) Kist
5) Klaasen
6) Wallace
7) David
8) Beaton
9) Bunting
10) Webster or Walton or Fordham
If it's worst campaign my list would be a bit different. As examples, Wallace would be lower. Wallace had a tournament average of 95, which on 1997 boards is very impressive. Likewise, Walton also not make the top 10, given that his 97 average on 01 boards is very impressive.
My top 5 would remain the same with both criteria though. The top 2 in particular were very weak world champions. At least Kist posted a decent tournament average on 2012 boards, Klaasen beat Headshaker in 06, and Mitchell beat a decent version of Adams in 2015. Warren and Duff's campaigns were weak both statistically and in terms of opposition.
Waites had a slightly lower average in 2013 than Duff had in 2022. However, 2013 boards had smaller segments than 2022 boards.

Come on now, lads.
Let’s change it to “PDC World Champion” to appease Oche

Not fair to compare people like Waites who played while holding down a day job, to professionals. Both did fine for their standards
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

Re: The worst world champions
Duff is an official amateurs world champion, so leave him alone ffs!!!!!!!! All of the others won "professional" world championships.
