My mate from Twitter, good guy and a great, under-respected player of his era. 100% underrated these days, he's never mentioned by any pundits despite winning two proper majors and being World #1 in 3 different years
You on twatter mate? You following me yet?
Not as my forum persona  but I got talking to Lloyd a few years back when he followed me, he's incredibly sound
Follow me mate I follow everyone back I play nice

When he was #1, that was overrated.
The ranking system was different then if I remember and Taylor didn't play every event. I always liked Lloyd and not sure he's under or over rated, as he won his majors in good fields.

If you compared him to Taylor, then yes. Not Lloyd's fault that he played all the floor events and did well, while Taylor skipped a lot of them and saved his best form for the TV events.

He didn't need to.

+1

It was the same when Manley was PDC number 1 earlier in the decade.

It was not exactly a Bristow>Taylor dynasty but two good guys. I liked Lloydy.

Happily he peaked at the right time to mop up a couple of Taylor disasters and he seemed like a floor beast which helped.

He was Deta's boyfriend too!
Good summary.

I had forgotten that Rod mentored Lloydy.
