There was a speculation a few months back that Eurosport had great influence on the dates. Hence why the 2023 event was rumoured to clash with the seniors event.

Although the final paragraph of that statement now rules that out.

Perhaps they've parted ways with Eurosport or come to some sort of compromise with them.
