DFR
I was scrambling around trying to spot if you'd made a mistake putting in two Chinese qualifiers, but then I remembered that EADC qualifier basically isn't happening lol. I wonder who will make up the numbers now, back in the day they had the Irish qualifier (don't think they'll bring that back now that the Grand Prix isn't in Dublin), but ideally I wouldn't want another Chinese qualifier, even if the standard there looks like it's on the up if the Chinese Premier League is anything to go by

Boris Koltsov nearly won a ProTour the other day after not playing for ages, be harsh to say he's not on form!

Alright, he is the exception as he hasnt played the full year.

But if you play the full year and you arent in that list then you are playing shite, so no loss imo.

Gentle

Yep they always love putting in two Chinese players despite the fact A. they're pretty shite and B. they usually have problems turning up even before Covid. Xiaochen Zong would be alright but the rest are really terrible.

I wouldn't mind a spot for the highest not qualified on the big OOM, ranking has to count for something right?

Not really, again if you are 33rd in the rankings yet you still havent had the 32nd best floor season out of all the rest then you can fuck off.

FWIW, Yamamoto was one of the top Japanese players from about 2010 to 2015, not so much since then. Seems to be in a bit of form this year though, currently ranked second on the national softtip tour that he plays on.

Highly doubtful there are going to be two China spots this year now that the places reserved for the Asian Tour are awarded at-large again, not regionalized.

It's the Perfect Tour which Asada used to dominate, but he (along with Yuki Yamada and a few other first- and second-tier players) moved over to Dartslive last year. Leading Perfect in front of Yamamoto right now is a relatively new guy named Tetsuya Uezato, 33 years old and playing professionally only for five years (which is really three due to Covid). I'd say Yamamoto's revival is more surprising than Uezato's breakout...in his first three seasons on the tour (2017 to 2019), Uezato already finished the annual ranking in 20th, 19th and 16th place, while missing a significant number of tournaments each year. If he'd played everything he probably would have been top 10 every time.

Absolute fucking morons. That first Sunday session is a direct clash with the final, the Saturday afternoon clashes with the 3rd place match but nobody really cares about that.

Why didn they just miss that afternoon out and play it on the Tuesday afternoon a few days later?

I can't remember what Matt Porter said now. He was certainly pondering it all.

The World Cup final is a 3pm kick-off UK time on that Sunday. The darts starts at noon, so that's not a total clash in terms of TV at least.

Porter said to Barrs about 8 weeks ago that there would be absolutely no clashes with the World Cup they simply wouldn't play. Looks like he is a massive liar or Hearn has chucked him under the bus.
