It won't go ahead. If it did, the clubs would've been kicked out of their domestic leagues, possible international team bans for involved players, transfer embargoes etc. So they saw the light and dropped out.

FIFA will dish out massive fines to the owners and not points deductions, as they would be deemed as punishing fans instead.

It was similar in principle to the darts split, only the football teams have competitions now and just got greedy (JP Morgan money). The PDC formers did it out of necessity, as early 90s darts was in the shitter, unlike 2020s PL and Champions League.
